	Fraser Firs are primarly grown in the northwestern section of the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains. This is the perfect environment for growing the Fraser fir. This are has an altitude of around 3000 feet and with an annual rainfall average of 40-50 inches as well as temperatures that do not exceed 78 degrees fahrenheit. Fraser firs naturally thrive in this perfect environment. It is also because of this perfect environment that gives the Fraser fir the ability to retain its needles throughout the Christmas season. More than 50 million Fraser firs are grown in North Carolina and represent over 90% of all Christmas trees grown in the state. The Fraser fir trunk can reach a diameter of 1-1/2 feet with a maximum tree height of 80 feet.
