I finally got around to changing the lock on the door and, with the help of my son-in-law, I was successful in installing the Lockey keyless lock...it is working very nicely. I�m looking forward to many years of easy-entry to my house! Thanks for all your help!!

With the Tree Fountain Christmas Tree Waterer, keeping your live Christmas tree properly hydrated is an easy task. You supply your own 2-liter soda bottle, fill it with water, and tip it upside down in the Tree Fountain base. Then the water will flow through the 5' long tube and automatically fill your tree stand's reservoir to a depth of 1-1/2". Here's how the Tree Fountain works:

The base of the Tree Fountain is designed to hold a small pool of water that is exactly 1-1/2" above the floor. Why 1-1/2"? Because this dimensions will work with over 95% of the Christmas tree stands on the market.

When the Tree Fountain's hose is placed into the Christmas tree stand, water will flow from the Tree Fountain until the tree stand reservoir is also filled to a 1-1/2" depth. The water flow will then stop because if it continued, the water level in the tree stand would be higher than in the Tree Fountain, and water does not flow "uphill."

At this point the second stage of the Tree Fountain comes into play: The Tree Fountain base holds an inverted 2 liter plastic soda bottle that is filled with water. The nose of this bottle is suspended at the same 1-1/2" height as the surface of the small pool of water in the base. When the water level in the tree stands drops below 1-1/2", the small pool of water in the Tree Fountain base will refill it, and as that pool of water drops, the upside down soda bottle will refill the pool of water. When the water's surface reaches 1-1/2", it covers the nose of the soda bottle, preventing air from entering the bottle. It is air that replaces the water that flows out of the bottle so when the air cannot enter the bottle, water cannot flow out of the bottle. Thus, water will stop flowing from the soda bottle, ensuring that the tree stand and Tree Fountain will never overflow onto your floor.

In Summary:
The Tree Fountain refills your Christmas tree stand in a 2 step process. First the Tree Fountain fills the Christmas tree stand to a 1-1/2" depth, then the soda bottle refills the Tree Fountain base to that same 1-1/2" depth. This process repeats itself over and over and will continue to maintain the same 1-1/2" deep water level in the tree stand, as long as there is still water in the soda bottle.
