Mechanical pushbutton surface mount locks are primarily used on commercial doors and other applications where it is difficult to install a mortised mount lock. For example, if you have an existing metal door and do not wish to replace your current mortised lock. This lock is also nice if you have a commercial building and have a high employee turnover rate, because you can change the entry code at any time you wish. They are also great for thin doors because they can fit doors that are from 0" to 2-3/16" in thickness. This ability makes them a great candidate for cabinets, lockers, etc. Another great feature of this surface mount door lock is that it has one bar that is capable of being set up for either a short or long throw. The short throw is 3/4" and the long throw is 2-3/8". The M220 is most commonly used on aluminum storefront doors, and on cabinet doors, gates, garage doors ad lockers, because it can be mounted on doors from 1/8" to 2" in thickness. The M220 deadbolt will cover a standard 2-1/8" hole. The M220 will also fit both right & left handed doors.
